What is new and exciting with you now or since your time with Lead Virginia?
We just
finished shooting new campaign content for a few of our favorite NHL and MLS
teams, one of our producers won an LA Emmy and our team is growing and
expanding to other parts of the state. My husband and I are also expecting our
first child this summer.
How did Lead Virginia shape you as a leader?
Lead VA continued to reinforce the value of relationships. I have made dear friends through the program and discovered new opportunities to innovate across industry lines.
Since Lead Virginia, how have you put your social capital to work?
Lead VA has opened my eyes to parts of the state that I never knew much about and has given me an idea of how innovation in one part of the state can enrich the lives of Virginians in a completely different region.
What were your expectations of Lead Virginia prior to beginning the program? Did the program exceed or meet your expectations?
Before I started the program, I expected it to be like other programs I’ve participated in but was pleasantly surprised with the focus on relationships and building social capital. I was also surprised by how friendly and fun everyone in our class was...it is probably why we were the best class.
What was your biggest takeaway or lesson learned from Lead Virginia that continues to stick with you today?
Relationships, Relationships, Relationships. Over the next few months I will be in different parts of the state again for work and plan to reconnect or connect with other Alumni as I go.
