What was your biggest takeaway or lesson learned from Lead Virginia that continues to resonate with you today?

Every section of the Commonwealth has its unique challenges, and every section of the Commonwealth matters. What affects us in southern Virginia affects every other sector, and vice versa. Finally, and maybe most importantly, there is GREAT food and drink available from Cumberland Gap to Virginia Beach, and from Henry County to Fairfax County!

What was your biggest takeaway or lesson learned from Lead Virginia that continues to resonate with you today?
Growing up in Southern Virginia and then moving away for almost 20 years, I had much to relearn about my home. Lead Virginia introduced me to people who truly care about the communities they serve and helped me understand that while our zip codes may differ, the work and the challenges we are facing are very similar. Economic and social challenges aren’t limited by city and county boundaries.

The biggest lesson for me is that there is tremendous talent here in the commonwealth, in both the private and public sectors, working together to make Virginia a better place, everyday.
